The third edition of “The definitive Italian wine tasting” has been a real success. The event took place in London, on the 28th of June, at the Lord’s Cricket Ground Nursery End Pavillon, one of the most ancient stadium of this discipline.
This year, under the title of “Viaggio Italiano” visitors have been taken into a virtual trip to Italy, among the most productive areas of the country to provide a more exhaustive idea of the richness and the variety of the land. The trip also included Sicily, with 11 wines produced there.
Dario Cartabellotta, director of the Vite and Vino institute said that these events are very important to spread knowledge. This event in London has been a good occasion for the Sicilian wine, it had the chance to get a lot of visibility. In the interest of the Sicilian wine, the next step to do is the promotion of the land, because the land is what producers are looking for.
Sicily showed its own wine during the fair in London during one of the two seminars dedicated to two aspects or Italian productive areas. One of the two seminars was about Sicily and its land and climate, the title was ‘Introduzione alla Sicilia – il suo clima, terreni, Vite e Vino”. Peter McCombie, Master of wine since 1994 directed the seminar. He is one of the most important experts of Italian wine in London. He stressed the big progress of Sicilian wine during the last 20 years, how tasty and fresh they are.
This show in London is a must event to improve the situation of Italian wine and its position in the market.
