Italian spumante (white sparkling wine) increases its sales – + 25% – on international market and takes over tables all around the world thanks to its made-in-Italy toasts, as reported by Coldiretti’s analysis on the occasion of the New Year’s Eve celebrations, based on data referring to Italian spumante’s export in 2011.

 

“This year, all around the world people is going to drink more Italian spumante rather than French champagne – whose export has increased only 3,5%. According to estimates, over 300 million of made-in-Italy spumante ‘s bottles are going to be drunk abroad within the end of 2011”.

 

This great success comes from spumante’s growth in Germany (+8%), that is the main importer, and its boom in the USA (+37%) and in the UK (+25%). Amongst new customers of made-in-Italy products – reports Coldiretti – there is also Russia, with a record growth – + 40%”.
