France, Germany, Italy and Croatia have withdrawn their bid to co-host the 2015 European Championship over concerns about how the European Basketball Federation is handling the process, leaving only Ukraine as a candidate.
A statement on the French Basketball Federation’s website says a unanimous agreement to pull out was reached between the presidents of each federation. All four presidents have "immense doubts regarding the professionalism and the lack of trust in the bidding process conducted by the European Basketball Federation."
French federation president Jean-Pierre Siutat and German counterpart Ingo Weiss add in a joint statement that "we withdraw from the bidding process with a heavy heart as we were extremely enthusiastic."
