The Italian Guardia di Finanza impounded a wine company and cash for more than 4 million Euros between Acata and Vittoria. The investigation, carried out by the prosecutor’s office of Ragusa, led to the arrest of eight people, accused of criminal organization and fraud against the State and the European Union. The investigation reconstructed an alleged fraud that aimed at obtaining a public contribution. The Guardia di Finanza ascertained that the company Future Tecnologia Agroambientali Srl, located in Acate, belonging to the Gruppo Mezzocorona Spa, obtained a contribution worth 4.366 million Euros. The company bought the cellar “Feudo Arancio” from another company belonging to the same group, the Rizzoli family. Investigators are now checking on three companies of the Gruppo Mezzocorona Spa, one located in Acata and the other two in Trentino Alto Adige.
