It’s the start of a crucial week in the so-called ‘P3’ enquiry. Unlike last week which was marked by the questioning of Ugo Cappellacci Governor of Sardinia, Nicola Cosentino former Under Secretary for the Economy, and Ernesto Sica former Regional Minister for Campania, apparently over the next few days there are no interrogations scheduled. However the investigators, Prosecutor Giancarlo Capaldo and Deputy Prosecutor Rodolfo Sabelli intend to examine the evidence gathered, in the light of recent statements, and assess the position of other individuals whose names feature in trial papers and wiretaps. There will probably be new additions to the list of those being investigated. Then the summoning to court will begin.
Among the high profile personalities to enter the Piazzale Clodio courthouse will be Under Secretary for Justice Giacomo Caliendo, former President of the Court of Cassation Vincenzo Carbone, the Governor of Lombardy Roberto Formigoni, former President of the Milan Court of Appeal Alfonso Marra, the Head of the Inspectorate for the Ministry of Justice Arcibaldo Miller and former General Attorney of the Court of Cassation Antonio Martone. Midweek the court will address the appeal lodged by Arcangelo Martino, the businessman who was arrested along with Flavio Carboni and Pasquale Lombardi, and who is considered to be one of the main suspects in the case.
