The reform regarding land federalism strongly wanted by the Northern League was passed by the two-chamber commission. The law – supported by a large majority which also included an opposition party, i.e. Idv – sets the main principles and procedures for the transfer of state properties to local bodies. A real revolution that, even if sponsored by the Northern League, is also being welcomed positively in southern Italy.

In Sicily for example this passage will allow the Region to acquire a great quantity of archaeological sites. Some examples? The Greek Temples of Agrigento, the Ursino castle in Catania, the Parco della Favorita in Palermo, the Greek necropolis of Syracuse, the Greek Theatre in Taormina and Palazzo dei Normanni in Palermo, a total of 143 historical-artistic sites.

A heritage with an enormous value – underlined councillor Gaetano Armao – “the result of direct negotiations between our Region and the State”. “We already disposed of all these assets – continued Armao. Now they finally belong to the Sicilian region. Our aim will be that of giving them further value . We are proud of this since we posses a century-long heritage”.
