An elderly German lady, returning to Germany from Catania, was asked to leave the plane because she "smelt" too bad. The decision was taken by the captain of the Air Berlin flight to Hanover after complaints from other passengers. The woman, according to La Sicilia newspaper, quoting sources from SAC, the airport management company, was taken charge of by the Italian Red Cross because she had sores and a swollen foot.  She was subsequently taken to hospital.
