“Neither the Italian Prime Minister nor other politicians had a role in the D’Amelio slaughter”. This is what the prosecutor of Caltanissetta Sergio Lari said in an interview on Rainews24. “On the D’Amelio case there was a big mistake or even a throwing off tactic by the police investigators. So I don’t think politicians should worry”, added Lari. “The investigation – he explained – was carried out by the Falcone-Borsellino group, directed by Arnaldo La Barbera”. “I cannot add other details but those who changed their versions said that the reasons for the false accusations were to be found in the investigators’ pressure”. “The negotiation between the State and the Mafia really existed, we have evidence that there were people who were not mafia members and had a role in the D’Amelio slaughter, and not only that”.
