“To convey through a glass of wine the emotions of a territory”. This is Antonella Brugnano’s mission. She is a young entrepreneur of a Sicilian wine company, which was born in 1970 thanks to the determination and pride of the Brugnano brothers, who decided to continue a three-generation tradition. The company presented its wines for the first time in 2006. The cellar is located in Partinico, in the San Carlo quarter, in the north-western part of Sicily, a company which is particularly suitable for the production of high quality wines. The company stretches out on a 15000 squared meter surface and it uses the most advanced technology for vinification, thanks to a recent renewing in order to maintain the quality of the vineyards. “We are convinced that a wine must convey the territory from which it comes ”, explained the young manager, “Uniqueness is the key of our production, that is the result of a blend of soil, climate and several varieties, bringing to the glass wines that give the emotion of their territory”. The grapes are selected in order to obtain an elegant taste and they come from vineyards located in the provinces of Trapani and Palermo, in the area of the Castellammare Gulf. The native vines are Catarratto, Inzolia, Damaschino, Grillo, Nero d’Avola and Nerello Mascalese, while the international ones are Chardonnay, Viognier, Tannat, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wines obtained are processed in steel containers at a constant temperature, but also in French wood barriques. The company also owns a shop selling bottles directly to consumers, who can also taste the wines. There is also an underground barrique cellar where the most valuable wines are refined before the bottling process. The next appointment with the company will be Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 of July in Sambuca di Sicilia, near Agrigento, in the Panitteri Palace, where a wine and food tasting will be organized for Degustiviae.
