Salvatore D'Anna

A small “treasure”, made of 107 silver coins of the 1st century b.C. and a Punic locket, was found at the island of Pantelleria, Sicily. The discovery was made in the Santa Teresa acropolis, during the excavations led by Massimo Osanna, of the University of Matera and Thomas Shafer of the Tubingen University. The excavations started in 2000 and involved some 40 archaeology students.
